Young Farmer's Day Camp

Young Farmer’s Summer Day Camp Registration

Six Week-Long Sessions, July - August
Day camp will take place at Dog Mountain Farm, a small working farm with 15 acres of land to run around and learn on. Each day children will experience and learn about all different aspects of the farm, from animals to vegetables to bugs in the soil. There will be times for fun games and songs, and time to simply reflect and enjoy the outdoors. In addition, each week of camp will have a fun theme with special activities.

Young Farmers Day camp is open to children ages 5-12. Campers will be split into age-appropriate groups for activities. Registration will be limited to 15 children per week. Ratio of staff to camper will always be 1:5 or better.

 

SAMPLE SCHEDULE

9:30 – 10:00

arrival, intro games, discussion of the day’s activities

10:00 – 11:00

farm tour, each day we’ll spend some time exploring and learning about a different aspect of the farm (garden, farm animals, orchards, forest habitat)

11:00 – 12:00  

themed activity

12:00 – 12:30

lunch time

12:30 – 1:00

story time, reading from Charlotte’s Web or other farm-based story

1:00 – 2:00

help with farm chores

2:00 – 3:00

themed activity

3:00 – 3:30

games, gathering up of belongings, ready for pick up!

3:30 – 6:00

extended care is available for an additional $6/hour

Farm chores – collecting eggs, planting, harvesting, weeding

Make a small farm booklet/story

Terrarium making
